In partnership with our Priority Business Customers (PBC) agent - Kintetsu World Express (KWE), MASkargo welcomed an international delegation of students from Japan at its homebase, the Advanced Cargo Centre.

A total of 70 students and their teachers from Ikubunkan High School were introduced to the state-of-the-art warehouse as part of the tour. Accompanying the group were Managing Director, Mr. Hiroshi Azuma of Kintetsu World Express (KWE) Sdn Bhd and Mr. Jaya Ganese Poobalasingam, Kintetsu’s Head of Terminal.

“We are pleased to share our experiences with the students as it would provide us the opportunity to introduce MASkargo’s facilities and in effect expand its businesses to a wide range of customers all over the world,” said Ong Ai Lin, SVP of Revenue Management and Alliances.

Among the areas visited were Cargo Acceptance, Import Release, Express Handling, Perishable Units and the six-star Animal Hotel.

One of the students even commented the following, “I now have a birds-eye-view on how air cargo business works as this will certainly help with my studies. I am also in awe with the Material Handling Cargo System (MHCS) where most of the operations are mechanically computerized.”

With system upgrades in progress, MASkargo is set to become one of the biggest cargo facility centres in Asia when all phases of upgrades are completed. The final phase will see the Material Handling Cargo System (MHCS) expand its cargo handling capacity up to one million tonnes per year.

Before leaving, the visitors complimented MASkargo’s hard work and they believe that this lively experience has greatly enriched their knowledge.
