HANOI, 16 APRIL 2013 - MASkargo marked another historical milestone by launching its first A330-200 freighter flight to Hanoi, Vietnam, in a development that augurs well for the country's economy.

The A330-200 freighter is scheduled to fly into Noi Bai International Airport from Kuala Lumpur every Wednesday and Friday. The flight routing for the twice-weekly flight will be from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) – Singapore (SIN) – Labuan (LBU) – Hanoi (HAN) – Kuala Lumpur (KUL).

“We want to grow in the Vietnamese market by facilitating export and import links between Vietnam and its trading partners. With a GDP growth of 5.42 percent in 2013, we are definitely seeing a huge potential to grow our business in Vietnam,” said Mohd Yunus Idris, Chief Executive Officer of MASkargo.

He added, Hanoi is known for its large exports of electronic parts and equipments as well as garment and footwear. MASkargo is confident in supporting Hanoi for the fast and efficient movement of goods where it would greatly benefit from this advantage and enable access to global destinations across Asia, Europe, India, Japan and Middle East.

In 2012, MASkargo launched the Kuala Lumpur – Saigon – Bangkok – Kuala Lumpur network. Two years later, the performance of this route is still going strong.

MASkargo is committed to play its part as the preferred air cargo carrier to meet the requirements of a rapidly growing market such as Hanoi. The presence of international manufacturing companies and the country’s potential in air transportation has stimulated demand for fast and reliable air cargo movement, which is precisely what MASkargo offers to its customers.

MASkargo’s General Sales Agents (GSA) - Aviation Solutions Services Co. Ltd indicated that it expects initial response to the dedicated freighter encouraging and in tandem with economic growth; hence increased weekly services could be considered in the near future.

In addition, MASkargo also operates weekly freighter services into Saigon with a generous payload. Simultaneously, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) also complements a seven-time weekly commercial flight via the B737-800 on the KUL-HAN-KUL sector.

As one of the youngest freighter fleet in the Asian region, the utilization of the A332 freighter allows MASkargo to build capacity and expand its network to new markets with improved reliability and cost efficiency.
