MASkargo, the cargo division of Malaysia Airlines Berhad, successfully added another charter feat in its portfolio of customizable shipment services. The Boeing 747-400F, bearing flight number MH6496, carried 50 tonnes of odd-sized metal pieces from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to General Santos International Airport (GES), the largest airport in the island of Mindanao, Philippines.

The shipment consisted of 12 large metal pieces that were manufactured in Shah Alam to be exported to the Philippines for usage in a power plant.

The MASkargo team worked relentlessly with the freight forwarding agency, to ensure that the tailor-made flight met all their valued client’s requirements. The uplift process began at 0400hrs and the tedious process of maneuvering the pieces into the aircraft lasted almost three hours.

Flight MH6496 departed KLIA at 0921hrs on 9 September 2015 and arrived safely in GES at 1256hrs on the same day.
