04 February 2020, Sepang - The Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) today through its subsidiary MAB Kargo Sdn. Bhd. (MASkargo) uplifted disposable medical protective gear for use at various hospitals across the Hubei province in China via flight MH386 from Kuala Lumpur to Shanghai Pudong. This is in collaboration with local relief organisation #OpsHarapan who recently launched a donation drive in Malaysia to collect medical supplies in light of the Novel Coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan.


The goods were delivered to MASkargo complex today prior to MH386 departure at 1935hrs. Speaking at the event, Chief Executive Officer of MASkargo Ibrahim Mohamed Salleh said, “MASkargo is honoured to partner #OpsHarapan in transporting these supplies together with our sister company, Malaysia Airlines via tonight’s flight to Shanghai Pudong. We operate into China daily and we greatly empathise the predicament the country is currently facing including challenges in travel into and out of China. We will ensure that the supplies consisting of surgical masks, N95 masks, surgical gloves among others, reach the respective hospitals and will help the doctors and nurses carry out their duties safely.”

“We have been part of many relief aid missions, the recent ones being for victims of Taal Volcano eruption in Manila and also bushfire victims in Australia. Our logistics support network has allowed us to move efficiently and in quick time to help those in need,” he added.


Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province located in central China is in need of assistance in all forms as healthcare personnel fight to contain the virus from spreading. As medical personnel from across China are deployed to Hubei province, medical protective gears are depleting at an alarming rate risking the lives of frontliners fighting to contain the pandemic.
