The e-Freight Partnership Programme of MASkargo is a strategic e-commerce framework that aims to develop a paperless environment that will enable collaboration among various key players of the logistic industry to adopt electronic channels as the way of transacting business processes with each other. This programme requires the support of policies, processes and technology that must be established by various parties concerned, working together as smart partners with high level of commitment and dedication in the execution of efficient sets of internal and external electronic processes that can result in the delivering of service predictability and reliability to the customers. Through the e-Freight Partnership Programme which began in 2002, MASkargo has successfully implemented e-commerce transactions with the freight forwarders, shippers and customs authorities globally resulting in significant enhancements of work productivity and efficiency, improved quality of customer services and cost savings to the partners of the programme.
MASkargo has pioneered the implementation of neutral Air Waybills in China and is also the first airline to introduce electronic bookings for space confirmation to the freight forwarding community in Taiwan. MASkargo was also the first corporate Company in Malaysia to collect a sum of RM 159,885.91 electronically from a freight forwarder in Penang via the internet based Financial Processing Exchange gateway of Bank Negara.
In 2005, MASkargo has carried out a total of 7.8 million electronic business transactions comprising more than 500,000 e-bookings and 3.2 million electronic shipment tracking transactions globally. Today, the e-freight partnership programme of MASkargo provides a complete end-to-end e-commerce solution that automates the logistic business process from the point of neutral air waybill issuance, booking and confirmation, air waybill submission, customs and free zone declarations, flight schedule enquiries until the point of invoicing and payment. Each of these key processes can be electronically tracked round-the clock via the online tracking facility available in our MASkargo e-Portal - maskargo.com
